SUV buying guide

Compare two SUVs on the same budget

By SUVDekho · Buying checklist, not a road test or a lender recommendation.

A starting price describes the cheapest listed version. Your decision should compare the exact variants you would buy and the total amounts on their written quotes.

1. Fix the version before comparing the price

Write down the model year, variant, fuel, gearbox and seating configuration for each SUV. Check whether a quoted feature is standard on that variant or belongs to a higher trim.

2. Ask for an itemised quote

  • Vehicle price and any stated discount.
  • Registration and applicable taxes.
  • Insurance coverage and premium.
  • Accessories, service plans and other optional purchases.
  • Finance charges and the amount payable before delivery.

Use the same city, ownership category and comparable insurance coverage. Separate optional purchases before deciding which vehicle costs less.

3. Compare borrowing cost as well as EMI

Enter the same down payment, annual rate and tenure into each vehicle’s calculator. Then replace those assumptions with actual lender terms. A smaller monthly payment can accompany a longer repayment period and a higher total cost.

Illustration: with a ₹12 lakh purchase budget and ₹3 lakh down payment, the amount to finance is ₹9 lakh, before any separately financed fees. This is arithmetic, not a vehicle price or a loan offer.

4. Test what matters to your household

Bring the people and luggage you regularly carry to a showroom visit. Check rear-seat access, parking visibility and luggage fit yourself. Dimensions and claimed boot capacity help you shortlist; they do not replace this check.

Build your shortlist

Compare the available source-reported information, then open each model page for its EMI calculator and version notes. Missing facts remain labelled.
